Series of experiments using paper cuts on layers with a light source from below. For the project my dad and I built a small custom multi-plane with a lightbox from cheap materials.
The paper cuts were "moved" by replacing each cut with another, creating an illusion of transformation where in reality each frame was different. For additional effects I played with the lens focus, which accidentally resulted in the cuts looking like they were merging with one another. This created an interesting series of visuals which I'd like to keep in mind for future projects.
